Please keep supporting the ACAM GREAT LOMBOK WALK

The Fiona Unity Foundation would like to proudly announce that the ACAM GREAT LOMBOK WALK fundraiser was a huge success! To date, and there are still pledged donations to come we have officially topped our expected target. Sponsors have been notified and should be extremely proud to be a part of this epic fundraiser.

I am so very grateful by the amazing generosity towards the “Lombok Forgotten Children’s House Of Hope” which means the house WILL soon become a reality and Endri’s Foundation will have a hospital house. This desperately needed centre, the first of it’s kind in Lombok will easily double the amount of lives that will be saved, connected to surgeries and disability Aids. This huge success has put the Lombok Forgotten Children, Endri’s Foundation in a position, with consideration now being given to a ‘New Building’ with a purpose design in mind. Possibly renting for 6/12 months so progress can still grow and the work that Endri and his team do will down not be slowed down by a new building.

For The Fiona Unity Foundation, this is just the start of our support for The Lombok Forgotten Children, Endri’s Foundation. We are still in the early stages and are still urgently looking for sponsors to help purchase land and fund this new build. It is not too late to donate to the ACAM GREAT LOMBOK WALK which is the official fundraiser for The House Of Hope and follow the progress that you will be so proud to become a part of. No matter how big or small, every donation is gratefully received and 100% of your donation will go directly to The House Of Hope. I hope you will consider joining the unity and becoming a part of this mission, to help the sick, dying and disabled……The Lombok Forgotten.

Please keep supporting the ACAM GREAT LOMBOK WALK and donate if you can.

Today saw the completion of my walk, my walk of hope!

It was a very emotional day and one I will never forget. 2 very special people arrived at exactly the right time helping me to complete the last few kilometres. Jane Pederson & Kylie Battle thank you so much

Restu Adam….. what can I say….. you held my head up and held my hand throughout this journey and I will be forever grateful for your time and patience. Pak Pici…. my security, my jester, your laugh, your jokes pulled me through..up, down, flat 👍👍

Raden Dhony….. in front of me on the bike most of the way protecting me from dogs, pedestrians and the occasional gaggle of geese, thank you always my friend and thanks from Holly. Achend… the official photographer and fast walker, your photos are as amazing as you my friend! Agus and Wira….. thank you both for all your support in every way.

Endri Susanto….. you and what you stand for are the inspiration of this walk!! The work you and your amazing, loyal team do for the sick, dying and disabled people of Lombok is truly amazing. I pray that throughout this walk the HOUSE OF HOPE, your dream, will become a reality so you can continue your work that comes straight from the heart. I have never met anyone like you and I doubt I ever will.

God Bless You my friend 😇

fiona-day-11After a wonderful sleep, ( thank you to Gondang Beach Hotel for accommodating us  )it was one feet down at 2:30am. My knee is playing up again so it was “duck walking” for most of the time! A tea break was called at the 10km mark and was most welcome even if a bit cold. It was generally good walking with kind hills 😊another quick break at 20 kms then finishing up at 27km.

Woohoo short day today as will be tomorrow.

I was thinking of all the people who would be in transit at this time, coming for the first “MT RINJANI CHARITY CLIMB 2016” we have had no news so far so praying the gods will be with us and we can climb!

A upon arrival at the next 2 nights accommodation from the sponsor of the climb Rudy Trekker I couldn’t believe the hive of activity at the lodge in preparation for the climb. Rudy has been behind me 100% and his support has been amazing!

Cheers for now,

Walking with Hope

Walking for the house of hope!

Always walking with hope!

.Another day done and dusted! Tomorrow I will begin the home stretch with the last 102km.

With every step I take is a step closer to the desperately needed house of hope! I have met a lot of people so far and we are slowly getting the word out about THE LOMBOK FORGOTTEN CHILDREN, Endri’S foundation and the amazing work they are doing.

I started walking through Lembar and on into Mataram. This is the part of any walk I dread, leaving the countryside making my way through the traffic and pollution. Next I made my way through Sengiggi, a place I am very fond of which was bustling with families out enjoying their Sunday.

I finished at 33.1 mark, target completed and just before a heavy downpour. I have been extremely lucky so far avoiding the rain and bad weather.

Thank you to the Mina Hotel for supplying the accommodation for tonight. It’s off to sleep now as I gave another early start tomorrow.

On the road at 3am from Bumbang heading Selong Belanak. Walking through the area of Kuta in the pre dawn hours was nice and peaceful apart from the hoards of dogs which were on the streets in their masses. When the sun came up I was already walking through the massive tobacco plantations which dominate south, east and central Lombok.

I had my first stop at Mawun village in a baruga owned by the village leader. After a rest it was on to the start of the big hills and when I say big I mean big especially near the Astari where I will go back tonight for an event they are hosting for the walk.

As I made my way up and down the hills the sun unrelenting made it very hard to walk…… That’s until Adam and Endri team joined me making it a lot easier to reach the 33km which was my target for the day.

Thank you Sempiak Villas for providing us with accommodation for tonight. What an amazing place. I will definitely be back here for a relaxing holiday.

Tonight we will be the guest at a event / party organise be a group of amazing people who are fight with us to build the House of Hope!!

Thanks for all your support today Team Endri, I could not do this without you

Day 4 THE ACAM GREAT LOMBOK WALK! where’s day 3? Well let’s say it is a day I’d rather forget for now. I starts walking at 3am to try to avoid the heat of the day. Finishing at Jerowaru, East Lombok. It was a hot slow day and I very to reach happy to reach EkasBreaks . Until now I was finding it very hard to eat but a nice fresh healthy lunch and an early night I was ready to face another day. 👣👣

Up and feet on the Tarmac (well actually it was a rough, rocky, dirt road) at 3am. It is lovely walking at this time of the day before all the cooking fires light up filling the air with heavy smoke. I am starting pick pick up my pace a bit now with a good sleep and refuelled.

My first break was at Telong -elong harbour, East Lombok, next was in a Bulga at Batunanpar Pene Village owned by a lovely family running a photo studio right there in the middle of nowhere. It was extremely hot walking in the full sun. My last quick break,to visit Restu Adam’s niece Juni who is suffering kidney failure and has to travel to Mataram twice a week, a total of 9 hrs each trip to receive dialysis.

It broke my heart to see this beautiful little girl suffering in silence. This is one little girl who will really benefit from the House of Hope.!

I am now about to have a rest and recharge listening to the ocean at Bumbangku Bugalows in Central Lombok. Thank you to Marsono for supplying our accommodation for tonight.

Thanks again to my amazing support to for all your great work.
