I have been an expat in Indonesia for many years and I have seen first hand some sad and horrific sights. I have decided not to sit back and do nothing. My goal is to do my best, using my skills, resources and experiences to help in the biggest way possible. In 2012 the Fiona Unity Foundation was founded.
We take it for granted that our children will be brought up in a safe environment with loving caring parents to guide and support them. Giving them an education so they will have the opportunities in life to achieve their dream. Here in Indonesia there are so many abandoned, orphaned, sick or disabled children that have little or no opportunities. Their fate already decided for them for whatever reasons and through no fault of their own. Hunger, sickness, loneliness and despair, life without help, life without hope!
Through fundraising challenges such as:
- THE MT RINJANI CHARITY CLIMB, 2012
- THE KOKODA CHARITY TREK, 2014
- WALKING FOR EDUCATION, 2015
- THE GREAT LOMBOK WALK, 2016
the Fiona Unity Foundation is able to lend support directly to the people who need it.With no overheads such as administration cost etc. sponsors can see that 100% of all donations go exactly to where they were intended.
